Short, because this site does very little.

What this site is

Tethered is a memoir by James Dickerson, written with Andrew Edwin Jenkins. This site describes the book, sells the signed hardcover, and lets you ask to be told when the ebook and audiobook are ready and when the Reading Room opens.

What this site is not

It is not therapy, counselling, medical care, or a crisis service. Nothing here diagnoses, treats or prescribes, and the reflection is not an assessment of any kind. If you are in danger or in crisis, contact emergency services, or in the U.S. call or text 988.

Buying the book

The signed hardcover is sold here for $29.99. Payment is taken by PayPal, on PayPal’s own pages. This site never sees, handles or stores your card details, and none are kept on our server at any point.

The total PayPal shows you before you confirm is what you pay. PayPal then emails you a receipt, and that receipt is your order. If no receipt arrives, the payment did not complete and nothing was charged.

James packs and posts the books himself, and signs them before they go, so a copy comes from him rather than from a warehouse. He fills orders as quickly as he can. No delivery date is promised.

Asking to be told when the ebook or audiobook is ready is not a purchase. It does not reserve anything, does not create an order, and does not enrol you in anything.

If something goes wrong with an order

If the book arrives damaged, if the wrong thing arrives, or if it does not arrive at all, write to support@jamesforvets.com and it will be put right — replaced or refunded, whichever you prefer. Please write within 30 days of the date on your receipt, while the parcel can still be traced.

Because every copy is signed by hand, a book that has simply been opened and read cannot be taken back. Damage, the wrong item and non-delivery are always covered.

The Reading Room

The Reading Room is not open. When it opens, joining it will be a separate decision with its own terms, and any price or billing arrangement will be shown before you are asked to agree to it.

The book’s content

The book and this site describe one person’s experience. They do not promise that anyone else’s will be the same.

Changes

These terms will change as the book and the Reading Room develop. The version on this page is the one that applies to an order placed while it is shown.
